Biography
Paul Trottier lives and works in Saskatoon with his wife Gina and three beautiful active daughters. He worked at the University of Saskatchewan for over twenty years in numerous capacities and was the past director of the internationally acclaimed Emma Lake Kenderdine Campus. Currently, Paul owns and operates Hues art supply store in Saskatoon, which is quickly becoming a hub of all things art related. Professionally trained as an arts educator, Paul has also completed a Masters of Education along with numerous diploma and certificate programs. Self professed as a life-long learner and lover of life, Paul loves to create, and be engaged in the pursuit of knowledge in nature.
As an artist, Paul has shown in various location across western Canada, often with the group “Men Who Paint”. A recipient of numerous accolades, Paul’s work is collected through out North America in both private and public collections. Spending his time painting across Canada, Paul is fortunate to practice his passion and experience plein air painting at its finest. Paul's interest in art and painting in his early years is largely due to the influence of his father, but also to his intimate sense of place. Paul’s practice of reflection, thirst for knowledge, interest in people and spaces, and deep love of his home are all delivered on canvass through vibrant painterly strokes and colours. Others have called him part-gypsy due to his search for the sights and adventures that travel affords, choosing to immerse him-self in the experiences of new places and people.
